Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Springport escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
