Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your St. Adolphe vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Next, leave space in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left for other occasions. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you for it.
- The condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce your risk.
