Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. Check out these essential travel tips that will get your Sumerduck vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to pack a cardigan in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Pick roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your main luggage.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lessen your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks, drink lots of water often and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
