Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Tampolo could be no sweat at all or it could go on forever. We've put together some useful hints that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, official ID, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you intend to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural fibers and pack a sweater in case it gets cool in the cabin. Pick well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
