Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Upper Ohio vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, official ID, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and opt for easy-to-remove footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
