Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Vagan vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your bag for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
