We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our top tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and enjoying Varia before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and go for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
