If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be a real challenge. But there's no need to panic. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a stress-free start to your getaway in Vectis. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
