Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Vulcan could be completely stress-free or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, important documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
