If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But there's no need to panic. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a worry-free start to your time in Ward. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when picking what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a smart option.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
