Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Wayo-ri vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, official ID, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are always good options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight often lies in your clothing choices. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left for other occasions. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you later.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
