We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a ball in Welshpool in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and take a sweater as it can get quite cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks is also a wise idea.
