Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Wendling vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are some great options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.
