We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through the airport and discovering Whiting in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are some great options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and remember to bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to mitigate your risk. Wear a pair of compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
