Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Zap escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a stress-free flight experience is to pack ahead. So, let's start with the essentials: passport, official ID, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help pass the time, like some electronic devices or a few magazines. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, be sure to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
