We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and seeing the best of Zhuravlevo before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great travel experience is to plan ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you occupied, like some electronic devices or a good book. It's also wise to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, be sure to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your plane are no fashion runway. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and remember to bring a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help lower your risk.
