My partner & I loved staying here. The staff was top notch, always helpful and friendly, anticipating our needs, taking the time to do little "extras" that were not required. The swimming pool was wonderful. Massages good. Beach well cared for. The food was very authentic Indian and delicious. Huge variety of delicious offerings for their buffet breakfasts & lunches. I also tried the breakfast buffet at nearby Radisson Blu and rank the one at Ideal Beach Resort was MUCH better (and WAY cheaper).
We came at the hottest time of the year and the electricity cycled on and off a few times a day (not unusual in India, so can't fault them for that). The rooms are air conditioned and very comfortable. The only thing you should be aware of is the dining room area is open air to the outdoors (covered so you don't get rained on and wired sides so the birds don't come land on your plate), so it is quite warm. Their are many overhead fans to keep the air moving, but if it's 100 Degrees F outside, that still leaves me sweating profusely and uncomfortably hot. If that's an issue for you, go at a cooler time of year.
