Property is well positioned close the river. Staff friendly and helpful. They welcome dogs, which is what attracted us in first place. Lovely walk along the river. Big car park opposite. Good restaurant with excellent food.

The hotel has an elegant exterior and the rooms boast high ceilings. The parking is free and the situation is lovely as it overlooks the river and a lovely park. The rooms were decorated a la 50’s - dated, dingy. Steep steps to negotiate for my blind dog. Lovely staff.

Good value for money - excellent location

Nice hotel in a hiqtoric building. A little bit shabby here and there, but our room was clean, warm, comfy and with lots of old-world character. Coffee/tea set in the room much appreciated. Good bathromm. Bed a bit too firm - for me. Lovely enclosed garden (in summer). Just next to the center of medieval Chinon, with a large car park at the front door. Really excellent buffet breakfast with meat, salmon, cheese, eggs, good coffee and pastries (industrial croissants and pains chocolat not properly cooked, but it didn't spoil my day.) Good value for money.

Very poor kept. It could be a jewel but it is not. We just didn’t have a choice but if we did we would have gone somewhere else. The only positive thing was the young lady in reception who went out of her way to help us.

This property is in a great location and the parking was very easy. The front staff also accommodated an after midnight arrival. You just have to make sure you let them know in advance, otherwise you will be stuck outside. Other than that, the hotel had quite a few issues. First of all, it was so loud every time we got up to walk around in our room that it sounded like elephants walking around. We could even hear other people moving around and talking in their rooms. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. The toilet needed scrubbing and the shower had hair in it. By far the most frustrating part of our stay was the fire alarm that went off not once but twice during our stay…. We even had to evacuate the room at 2am for a false alarm. I would not recommend staying here.

Good hotel

Be aware, when it says checkin is at 3, the front door is locked until then. I had a reasonably spacious room looking out onto the square in front. Apart from a hanging rack the only drawer and shelf were taken up with spare bedding so nowhere to put clothes out of the suitcase. I glanced into a couple of other rooms and it may just have been a problem with my room. Good breakfast available in the courtyard which was secluded and quiet. Easy walk to the centre of town and lots of available cafes/restaurants close at hand.

I was quite negatively surprised when I checked in to this hotel. I don’t think the pictures corresponded to the reality and I was surprised that the reviews were so positive when my own experience was quite the opposite. In my eyes, my room and the common areas of the hotel, except for the updated reception area, were worn and shabby. I could clearly hear other quests in neighbouring rooms speak and as they passed in the corridor. The wooden floors in the corridor and stairs creaked and squeeked which was very disturbing. Luckily I found earplugs that helped so I could sleep. However, the staff was very nice and service-minded and the breakfast was good. And the rien was lovely!!

Det værelse vi fik var okay, men ikke bedre end det. Sengene var utrolig hårde at ligge i. Værelset lugtede af skimmelsvamp, der var plamager på vægge og loft efter potentielt vandskade/fugtskade. Badeværelset lugtede stærkt af fugt og der var lagt et mærkeligt gummi gulvtæppe på, som også føltes fugtigt når vi gik på det med bare tæer. Og for at toppe oplevelsen kravlede der en stor snegl ud under cisternen på toilettet - hvor kom den fra??? Nej - vi kommer gerne tilbage til Chinon men det bliver ikke på dette hotel.

Vieux et inconfortable

Quelle déception! La première chambre était une chambre de bonne sous les toit sans clim, petite, pas super propre, salle de bain minimaliste. Mobilier extrêmement vieux, tv minuscule au bout du lit tellement la chambre était petite. Seconde chambre plus grande mais toujours aussi moche et le matelas était tout déformé, la porte ne pouvait pas se fermer. A 100€ la nuit pas étonnant que mes collègues soient allés à l’Ibis. Dans les 2 chambres je n’ai pas etait a l’aise une seconde.
