The staff member (owner?) that we interacted with was really friendly and helpful and everything was easy. The unit was incredibly spacious and well set out. It was super handy to Canterbury Uni and other places we needed to go. Really good value - highly recommend it.

The people were extremely friendly and helpful. They even offered to help with my laundry when rushing to leave and dryer wasn’t done yet. The building is dated and it’s not super walkable area but we had a car and it was super convenient to get to everything we needed from there. I would stay there again.

Excellent place near Riccarton and Ilam

I stayed almost two weeks in a one-bedroom suite. Although from the outside, Ascot Vale Motor Lodge does not stand out among the string of places to stay along Riccarton Road, my room was outstanding. It appeared to have been recently refurbished and had everything I needed (kitchen, table, couch, wardrobe, bathroom, and bedroom. The bed was good and the wifi worked well.

Maybe for a night

If you need a crash and go near the airport, this is good place to stay. It’s in a neighborhood with other two story motels. Room was spotless and repainted, but had furniture from the past century with cheesy covers. Lumpy bed too. All towels were thin with tattered edges. Despite the windows, it was stuffy.

Staff that went above and beyond

Excellent stay - the place was spotless and well maintained. We booked super last minute after flight changes and came to the motel late. The staff was extremely helpful and understanding, even gave us new toothbrush and toothpaste as we didn’t have our check in luggage and only our backpack. That’s going above and beyond

The Staff member on duty when we arrived, showed us to our unit, which I thought was very nice, usually we are handed a key and need to find our own way. While everything was clean and tidy, the motel dated in that no extractor fans in kitchen or bathroom and written instructions not to open windows.

Stayed there for one week. Good place of you are staying a few nights. They have washing machine there which was handy, and some basic cooking facilities. It was a very short drive into the CBD and the major shopping centre was walking distance up the road. I would happily stay there again. Parking was difficult due to the site itself being small. I found on two occassion all parking spaces were occupied so I had to park on the road for a short time. I rented a small hatchback car which was perfect for the hotel, anything bigger would have been difficult to park there.
