"Checking into this convenient, affordable hotel is like checking into prison. An unsmiling young man (franchisee's son, forced to be there?) pushes forms through a slot in a glass wall - like they expect the guests or the neighbors to pull a gun on them. It's so insulting: neighborhood is working class and mixed race, full of Brooklyn college students and hard working folks, not criminals. Meanwhile, staff doesn't bother to pick up a pair of men's briefs that lie on the ground outside the hotel for FOUR DAYS. Would be a great option for a low-cost stay in New York if the owners demonstrated any respect for their guests. The word "hospitality" seems unknown to them. Meanwhile, rooms are clean, location is on great subway lines, and there's a lovely cafe (Daisy's) a quick walk down two blocks."
