“Very disappointing stay – major issue with trains
In hindsight, I wish I had paid more attention to previous reviews before booking.
The biggest issue by far is the railway line immediately next to the lodges. Trains pass extremely frequently, including late into the night and again early in the morning. “Amazing hotel food in the restaurant was beautiful and lovely experience and nice to see the hotel in such great shape.
The spa facilities were great and easy to access and very clean.
I would like to especially mention the bar and restaurant staff who worked in the evening who were so so plesent and welcoming making everyone in the resturant enjoy there time. Once again such a great experience.”

“Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome. We opted for the pie for dinner and I can honestly say, it was the best pie I have ever eaten. The pastry was amazing and it was filled to the max with the ham and leek. “This place is quaint but not super welcoming. The cottage was cute but not the comfiest beds.
We didn’t get a code to check in and didn’t realise the reception would be unmanned.
The continental breakfast was a bit odd - self service without clear instructions. Wasn’t all put out at 8am and then a girl came and brought some more things. Had to make our own coffee. ”
