"It was like a motel, very basic nothing special except a park in the back our dog enjoyed. The breakfast was awful, they used some fake powdered egg instead of real eggs and nothing nutritious about it. Overcharged for room because it was last minute, but not worth more than $70 a night in my opinion. Bed was hard. Enough said. Didn't like the stay."
"I booked there for its "pet-friendly" policy, however at the desk the woman stated that there would be a $40 pet fee for each dog, $80 total extra on top of the price for the room, for a room in a hotel that is shady-looking, run down, and smells bad. Completely outrageous and horrible."
"The water pressure was hit or miss, and the tub drain was slow. Aside from these problems, our stay was nice. The cleaning staff went above and beyond with daily service without even asking for it."
"Such a treat to stay at this lovely, beautifully furnished & decorated (lots of original art) hotel just 1/2 block from the plaza and the Basilica of St. Francis. We had reserved 2 rooms and were able to check-in early into 1 of them. With valet assistance we stored all our luggage there until the 2nd room became available. The food and service in the main dining room is superb. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and the choices were delicious and servings generous. A fountain in the middle adds to the refreshing ambiance. The rooms (206 & 208) including the ensuite bathrooms, were good-sized, the bed and linens very comfortable, and quiet. In-room amenities included terrycloth robes, coffee & tea and gifted water bottles, and a small fridge/freezer combo. We never even turned on the TV. We loved watching the sunset while sipping cocktails on the rooftop "Bell Tower" bar. Park your car ($30/night) and easily walk to all the key places, including the New Mexico History and the Georgia O'Keefe museums. The fitness center is small, but has the usual free weights, treadmills, etc. Note: The foam roller needs to be replaced (soft in center) and a workout mat or yoga mat would be a nice addition. I didn't use the hot tub or pool. La Fonda is a top-notch hotel and I highly recommend staying here."
