Great hotel but lacks personal service
The hotel is of a very high standard with wonderful views of Mont Ventoux. We had a detached garden house which was amazing. Where the hotel is lacking is around a personalised service. There are minimal staff and they rarely interact with guests. The hotel operates on a “help yourself” basis. There is an honesty bar and breakfast is entirely self service. Staff do not approach your table to clear plates until you have left. There is no food in the evening which is a shame and surprise for a hotel of this standard and which charges €350 a night. On arrival you are asked if you want a restaurant booking at a place in the village. We were reluctant but did not regret it at Le Veux Four. It became apparent that every new arrival must to recommended the same as we went a second time and all arrivals that day were in there. There is clearly a connection with the hotel. Overall it was a pleasant stay but the hotel could be so much more if staff interacted with guests. Even at checkout we were not asked how our stay was. As a result the hotel tends to lack atmosphere which is a real shame as the hotel itself is great. They appear to have taken it a little far in terms of making it feel “home from home”.
