The Met Hotel

4/10 Poor

"It is more like a hostel than a hotel. Very unsafe surrounds & area. On street parking. The shared bathrooms were very primitive & dirty. Shared kitchen was unusable. The noise level was unbearable. The walls are paper thin. Everytime someone open or closed their door you could hear it really loud. If anyone walked around in their room or the hallways you could hear it. Any noise on the street you could hear it. The pillows & mattress were really uncomfortable. All the doors have no smoking on them but someone in room 15 or 16 was smoking marijuana you could smell it in the hallway as you walked past to access the shared bathrooms. The bathrooms had shared hand towels & bath mats which are super unhygienic. They should provide a hand towel & bath mat with the towels in your room when you arrive. When I attempted to use I’m assuming was the ladies bathroom their was urine on the floor at the front of the toilet. There was no toilet paper either so my husband had to go into the men’s bathroom to obtain a roll. I would not stay here without a male partner accompanying you. I don’t feel like it is a safe place. We checked in at 4pm & there was a sign on the main entrance to call a number for after hours check in. The lady was helpful on the phone. I had to contact her by an sms message as I couldn’t get the through by phone call. We used the Sports Club next door for meals & the bathroom facilities. We also stayed for the comfortable chairs & to watch the large screen TV’s."

"1- I rolled up to the reception and introduced my self having a booking with Expedia or Hotels.com. 2- Woman at reception acted like an owner. She looked into her system and could not find the booking. She told me that Hotels.com was not Expedia and sometimes some of these small businesses do not send through the booking. (Really? Every other Hotels.com booking has always referred to Experia being Hotels.com) 3- She said she would match the Hotels.com price and asked to show me the booking. (I showed her the booking on my phone and the price and she said she would not honour that price) 4- She said she would charge me a Saturday night room rate and kindly would help me then to cancel the booking with Hotels.com. 5- She then entered my name and number and noticed I had stayed there before. I agreed to stay. 6- She then charged me $195.00 or nearly 25% more.(I felt that she lied and took advantage of me by not honouring the email that I had) 7- I asked her to send me a receipt that never arrived. (Maybe a typo error) 8-And finally.... they have done up the rooms. Well done! Now.... I have been to India 3 times and seen more of India than most Indians. I like India, in India. The rooms were far to gaudy for me as they were what I have seen in India. 9- They have upgraded all the power points and switches to the new LED/Touch type switches, that are always glowing. This did not help me with my need to have a dark room when I’m asleep. 10. Summary. I felt I was duped and taken ad"
