Beautiful hotel on the lake
Lovely location on Lake Daylesford. Highly recommend booking a room with a view of the lake. The rooms are very comfortable. A highlight is definitely the food at the restaurant.

Lovely experience
Food, service and the lovely setting were excellent. The only issue we had was a strange smell in the room when we got there but we were moved to another room. Can’t fault the gorgeous food and service in the restaurant and the property has a great feel throughout. We really enjoyed our stay

Loved the Hamptons inspired taste of room . The feeling of cosy & elegance every desire at your fingertips 😆 The verandah was a lovely extra I was not expecting can’t wait to come again for longer next time .

We were greeted when we arrived by a lovely staff member who's attention to detail was on point, welcome drink while we checked in and escorted to you rooms and given a run down on the room. The staff are amazing from the front desk to the restaurant we were very happy with our stay

Excellent service, Steve in the dining room was welcoming and friendly along with all the staff in the dining room. Food was terrific. Recommend highly. Lovely outlook onto the lake.

After booking for a room last April for 2 nights in November, I realised I needed a room with a walk in shower ( owing to a disability) I phoned and spoke to the reception - on arrival we were helped to our room over looking the lake, (we were upgraded) such a surprise. The food was "to die for" and the room very comfortable, staff all very friendly and helpful especially Wendi our waitress. Wonderful place.

We have stayed at The Lakehouse at least five times and our most recent stay was fantastic. The rooms overlook the lake in Daylesford, providing the most idyllic, quiet and restful setting. The staff are welcoming and friendly and ready to assist with any requests. Finally, the restaurant well and truly deserves its reputation as one of Victoria’s best. Whether enjoying a relaxing breakfast, an extra long lunch or memorable dinner, the setting is great, the staff warm and friendly and food remains sensational.

It was our 34th Wedding Anniversary so we decided to stay there one night along with having dinner. It was SUPER. We have a 8 course tasting dinner from the Chief and the Breakfast was included along with a few items on the menu

Luxury hotel which lives up to its reputation. The room was immaculate, spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff were unfailingly courteous, welcoming and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant twice and both experiences were excellent. The degustation menu was among the best we have had. We will definitely return in the future.

Expensive but worth it for a unique experience.
Great food but wine was expensive with nothing under $85. Bathroom lacked bench space to put one's toiletries but heated floor was lovely.

Nice hotel you know you’re in Dalesford
Our room was so large we could have spent a week in it. Warm and welcoming when we arrived but got too hot at night and in the morning. The breakfast buffet was much more wholesome and representative of Autumn when we stayed about 10 years ago. In general.. warm comfortable and welcoming

perfect weekend away
From arrival to check-out we could find anything to complain about. Staff are professional and attentive without being intrusive. Rooms are comfortable with all conveniences we required. We had breakfast and dinner included - a beautiful dining experience where you are made to feel special. Overall I could not find anything to complain about.

Relaxing and rejuvenating
My wife and I came here to celebrate a special occasion and relax. We were happy to indulge and booked a lakeside room along with dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. The food was outstanding, the service attentive and the room comfortable and well maintained. We were particularly impressed with the nine course degustation option for dinner, although it is worth noting that this incurs a supplement per person (on top of accommodation package price). There is also a lovely sitting room with fireplace and library that is fantastic for a pre dinner drink or afternoon coffee. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are looking to treat yourself. One of Victoria’s gems.

A nice surprise
It was a rushed booking on Saturday afternoon in Ballarat. Nothing was left except motels and high end accommodations. The stay was very nice, perfect for a family. Meals were included which is a surprise. Delicious french dinner and lovely walking trail around lakes.

Fabulous retreat
The hotel is simply beautiful situated on Lake Daylesford. All needs are accommodated and the staff are simply superb. We had dinner included in our booking and the degustation is truly wonderful. An all round 5 star experience. Thank you!

A WORLD OF EXCELLENCE AND COMPLETE SERENITY
This is my seventh wonderful stay at this fabulous hotel/spa hotel totalling 30 nights. In the past I stayed at Lake House for truly special occasions including 9 nights for well earned R&R after a very long and exhausting stint in hospitality. My husband and I have now decided, after my birthday treat this weekend, to come here every birthday. This means that we will be at the Lake House every April and September from now on. This beats the airport hassles and delayed flights and unchartered food safaris. By the way, the food is absolutely sensational. I rate the breakfasts to be equal to The Peninsula, Hong Kong and The Grande Britannia, Athens which also have gorgeous surroundings, each completely different. The staff are always welcoming and I got an unexpected upgrade - perhaps because I have stayed so many nights at this hotel in the past.We also had beautful pedicures and massages at the Salus Spa, a crwel away from our room. So relaxing! This hotel is the best in Australia.

An utter pleasure, can't wait to return
We loved every minute of our stay at the Lake House. We received a surprise upgrade from a lake view room to a suite, and it was exquisite. No amount of attention to detail was spared. Both the a la carte and degustation options at dinner were delicious and beautifully presented, as was the breakfast. Like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant has a warm, clean, cape-cod feel to it, and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed just being in the environment. The library is a wonderful place to enjoy a drink and a parlour game after dinner, especially in front of the fireplace. Staff are all very knowledgeable and accommodating, and always friendly and polite. The grounds are beautiful in winter (we can't wait to see them again in autumn, with all the leaves turning!), and provide a beautiful backdrop at mealtimes, as well as a great locale to stroll through when the sun came out. Salus spa is a wonderful place to unwind; we can't recommend the massages or the products enough. I particularly enjoyed the hand and body lotion, which is available for use in the hotel's rooms. It is clear that a tremendous amount of love and care is poured into the Lake House by its owners and staff, and we couldn't help but be swept up in it. We're counting down until we can come back!
