I had a very late flight arrival and was greeted kindly checking in at 2:00 am. Friendly staff, clean room and a central location. Breakfast was minimal. Overall a comfortable stay.

Very, very good.

Very nice. Right in downtown but not an exorbitant price. The rooms were large. We even had a couch and balcony. There also was a refrigerator and a full size desk. There was free parking. It was a very good experience.

Nice experience

One of the best hotel we slept on our trip to Norway. The room was very spacious for a family of three. Clean, classy with a nice bathroom. Parking was just in front of the hotel. No breakfast included. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Centrum Hotel is as centrally located as its name suggests, and the street cars running back and forth are incredibly convenient for a visitor. The Centrum serves a good, reasonably priced breakfast each morning and the staff are helpful and alert- I was not treated like an anonymous paying individual. I would return to the Centrum if and when I next visit Debrecen.

great for a city trip

Excellent location just where the pedestrian zone begins, within walking distance of many sights and restaurants and bars. The decor and the feel of the place, including the room, is a bit more dated and more distinctly East-European than at a large chain hotel, we actually liked this, it felt more Hungarian. It was very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Huge bonus: free parking in front of the building.

Nice room, excellent staff, but tram disruptive

Room was very nice, bed was okay (too soft for my back, but fine for my wife). But, if you are a light sleeper, then the tram that passes by frequently until late night, and from early morning was quite disruptive.

Forget this hotel!

I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. Working with hospitality needs some social skills and ambitions to give the guests good service. The staff of this hotel has nothing of it. It was more a scam like and lazy staff. Let's start with the worst. When we checked out, the receptionist invented a new fee. He charged us for changing towels. We stayed three nights and he charged us for three changes. We protested. There was no information about this on the website, on hotels.com or in the bathroom or when we checked in. The receptionist said that we could see it on the TV in the room. We didn't watch TV - most of the channels are on hungarian. The attitude is also unfriendly. We had some things to celebrate and had a small bottle of champagne with nus. We asked for a wine glass or a champagne glass. The portier said that they didn't have any glasses. One minutes walk from his chair there was a breakfast room with a bar and a lot of both wine glasses and champagne glasses. The breakfast was a joke. They had some deep fried vegetables that were so greasy that we felt sick when we tried it. No lactose free yogurt and no seeds or oats... just some low cost choco pops and the cheapest musli. The bread was just white and dry. Breakfast is not worth the stay. We had a hard time sleeping because of noisy drunk people outside the hotel- But the worst was to see the portier when we checked out. He had no pride and didn't even try to cover his lack of service and hospitality
