and embraced the real lives.
No one misses you,
no one cares.
You don’t even exist.

You’ve been left behind,
scrolling through Facebook,
amused by the retweets,
choosing emoticons,
for the next snapchat.
Talking to yourself,
in a delusion,
that they’re listening.
But everyone’s gone.
To a world,
that’s far from yours.
Leaving you in a place,
that used to be over-crowded.

Scary is it?
So, close those tabs.
Leave the screen for a while.

Pick up something else – a book,
a paint brush, a ball, a cat, a whisk,
a chessboard, a pen, a baby,
a conversation.
You can’t run out of options.
There are too many.
Go. Connect. For real.
Because one day,
the notifications will stop.

Ironically, I have to say this through the screen,
Because that’s how you listen.
