“We stayed in the Azul room with balcony, which was nice. Although we could hear people in the hallway and going up the stairs, we didn’t hear anyone else when they were in their rooms, not even the family with a baby. Breakfast was simple and a nice way to start the day. One problem with our room was a broken latch on the balcony door, so we heard street noise all night. My only other criticism was the $15 charge for pickup from the airport, which is less than 5 minutes from the hostal. We also...

“The location is fantastic, with the tramway stop right in front of the door, making it easy to get around. Just two blocks away is the main square, Calderón, which offers a vibrant atmosphere. There are plenty of eating options just steps away, making meals very convenient. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One highlight was the breakfast room on the 9th floor, where I enjoyed great views of the city while dining. It really made the experience...

“In the center and walking distance to everything. The only downside is that if you are a light sleeper and planning on going during the weekend, good luck. There is a rooftop nearby that plays music on the weekends loudly. Aside from that, the staff was really helpful. ”

“Very old colonial estate in central old town Cuenca. If you’re bothered by creaky wood floors and everything old and small rooms, this is not for you. But if you’re enchanted by the quaint setting, kind helpful staff and easy walking access to downtown Cuenca, it’s wonderful. Great price, safe and calm setting ”

“First time in Cuenca, so I wasn't sure what sort of place the Hotel Azul would be. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise! Nothing over the top, but all aspects of this cozy place impressed me. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice view of the city and strong/ consistent Wi-Fi.
