“We had a really nice room; it was spacious, comfortable and witha good bathroom, including separate shower and bathtub. The decor is lovely and has a bit of an old colonial feel. However, this hotel has definitely seen better days. It could do with a bit of maintenance and modernisation to give it a new lease of life. The pool was terrible - very small, dirty and just not a great corner of the hotel plot. The breakfast was nice, but you hvaeto cross the carpark to go to the bar/restaurant......

“Friendly atmosphere & helpful staff”

“They canceled our reservation literally at the last minute without any notification whatsoever; leaving us stranded at the Maun Airport. Then the manager refused to give us a refund. Both Expedia and I tried to rectify the situation for over an hour while still at the airport all to no avail. This feels like quite a scam! They took a reservation and almost $300 USD. Canceled the reservation without notice and kept the money!!! Expedia said they couldn’t drop the hotel out of their system unless...

“Going to first floor with no elevator might be an issue for some people. The staff was so loud way too early you can’t get any sleep in the morning. The place is clean so if you are an early bird the noise from outside won’t bother you. I did put in a complaint with front desk hopefully that helped.”

“We arrived at the Rivernest Boutique Cottages, and were told that they had been overbooked (though we had booked online several months prior) and that we were to be moved. We were sent to a different hotel a few minutes drive away, and given a room. The hotel we were re-booked at was cheaper than Rivernest, and we did not receive a credit or a refund of any kind. We had heard good things about this place, but unfortunately got to experience none of them. Good luck!”
