Romantic Hotels in Cumbria

There are not enough stars nor points to give this hotel! It is perfectly placed near the Lakes, but not so close as to be crowded. Our room was lovely, with all the right touches and amenities: great shower, comfy bed, and REAL COFFEE! The included breakfast is fantastic, and do not miss the restaurant (we ate there 3 times in 2 days), as the food is superb! Every staff member we encountered was delightful. We would go out of our way to stay there again!

Hazel, Ian and Auntie Chris were wonderful hosts. We had a shared bathroom that was no problem. Beautiful old manse with attractive, professionally gardened grounds. Room was like out of a movie. Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. Melrose Guest house is a beautiful place to stay in the Ambelside, Lakes National Park, and Windemere area. It is conveniently located in town by restaurants, ships, and trails. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every day of our stay. This is the place to stay in Ambelside!

After a busy week exploring Scotland, my boyfriend and I decided to make a stop for a couple of day in the quiet town of Windermere to get some rest and relaxation before continuing onto our busy adventures down in London. Glenn and Susann were lovely hosts who showed us great hospitality. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was skillfully cooked to order, full of options and served with great attention. We enjoyed our stay at Storrs Gate House during our time in the Lake District.

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Manor. The hosts were great and offered advice on dining in the local area and walking directions to the town. We spent most of our time traveling the area and did not eat in the restaurant. The room was a little on the small side and the hot weather required a fan in the room which did not add to the comfort. Otherwise all good and worth a visit

We really felt pampered here. Loved the area. Great if you’re a dog lover. Food was excellent and bar was warm and cozy.

This is beautiful place to stay for a night or even longer. The farm market in the service station across from the hotel is awesome too. I will definitely be back.

I enjoyed my stay at Norcroft Guest House. The staff members are kind. I was able to check-in early and was so grateful for that. I was offered a slice of lemon cake on arrival (delicious!) and offered fruit to take on my last morning when I wasn't going to be there for breakfast. The breakfast was tasty and delivered to my room at the time I requested. I would definitely stay here again if ever in Penrith in the future. Thank you! First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay!
