“House keeping was awful. Accommodation was dirty, smelly and not aired. Fire left dirty from previous guests. Washing up sponge was soooo old it was discussing and unbelievable. Breakfast food was very poor, cheap unhealthy food. Dinner option was a choice of 2 meals. No wine list, just one red wine offered. Staff were friendly, but not trained. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Setting is good. ”

It is showing its age however, but we still had a wonderful experience, with my husband celebrating his birthday at dinner where the staff made his night very special. “We booked George B Boutique Lodge based on the positive Google reviews, but unfortunately our experience was completely different. The lodge appears to still be under construction, with many broken items in the rooms, exposed electrical wiring around the property, mould on the ceilings, and basic necessities missing on arrival. We had to repeatedly ask for essentials like toilet paper, towels, teaspoons, and coffee cups. In my opinion, the lodge should not be accommodating guests in its current...

“The only reason I'm giving this place 4* is because the road leading down is gravel and not bery well maintained. The cabin itself is a paradise! The pond is beautiful, the ducks friendly, and the fast moving creek sounds lull you to sleep. I was very pleasantly surprised at how stocked the kitchen was with cooking supplies. The staff was friendly and the whole property is well maintained. ”

“There was a bath without a screen instead of a shower. A large dead cockroach in the bathroom. Lights outside the bedroom window that were not switched off. Naked, exposed wiring where the switch for the bedside lamp should be ( I could have electrocuted myself reaching for the switch at night!). Very noisy water pipes from 3am. The bed was clean and comfortable but the roach had spoiled it all.”
