“I swore to myself that I wouldn't use another ibis hotel after a horrendous stay in a Birmingham one many years ago. However I needed a hotel near to an event I was going to and because I'd left it late my usual hotel was full. It was only for one night so I figured I could cope with it. Yes, it was basic (clue in the name), but it was clean and the bed was comfy. I was expecting more noise later on but this was minimal and I was only woken up once. “Convenient location with small bar. For food there is an excellent fish & chip shop within 300 yards”

“Good comms on the phone before I arrived. Kindly suggested that I park at the secure NCP car park next door as there had been some theft recently, which was cheap enough. The room I was given had been smoked in (not the hotels fault) - the guys on the reception immediately swapped me to another room with no quibbling which was great. Hotel could do with a couple of touch ups, but it was clean and friendly and an absolute bargain compared to other options. Very good breakfast too”

“Only stayed one night so not long enough for a proper opinion. Everything ok with hotel itself but surroundings ( supermarket, McDonald's, back of a pub ,factory) a bit "industrial ". Only issue was with key card which refused to work because apparently it had been wiped by the security scanner in the supermarket. Good access to motorway. ”
