8/10 Good

"Surprised at the "remote" way of gaining entrance (reminds me of COVID times!). Given a 'number' for entrance datalock that allows you through front door (after setting it up, a wave of door key fob allows entrance) and then (in our case) climbing some "challenging stairs" (we are in our 70s!) to the allocated room, with key left in the door. Saw "no life" till breakfast room! Breakfast was very good. Eyemouth worth a visit, but ruled by the gulls!"

"Beautiful room and appreciated the upgrade. Such lovely surroundings and there were thoughtful touches in every spot, including have breakfast sandwiches delivered if you wanted to have breakfast in your room. The only (very minor) criticism was about the stone footpath...but tricky to navigate with a suitcase or any form of heels! Every other part of the hotel and the garden rooms was excellent."

"Lovely room, friendly staff and the food was great- the sticky toffee pudding is worth the trip on its own. We had a meal on our room and was impressed that dessert wasn’t brought up at the same time as starters and main courses as they didn’t want the ice cream to melt. The only minor issue was the phone in the room wasn’t working so had to go to reception to order room service, and we were disappointed there were no bath robes- would have expected them in a hotel of this calibre. Otherwise a delightful stay . The hotel is ideally placed for exploring the beautiful beaches nearby."

"We stayed 2 nights in The Rede Shepherds Hut in July. The Rede was beautiful, clean and well looked after. Although we didn’t use (not had time plus coolish weather) it had its own private hot tub tucked away outside behind fencing; which was daily checked and maintained (saw it being done one morning while we were sitting outside in our own private area). Only thing to mention was that The Rede did become cold/cool in the evening when outside temperature dropped. There was a wood burner with plenty of wood provided, but we felt silly lighting it during summer. However the bed was cosy! Thought we’d need to park in public car park (free for 72hrs) as space at The Joiners was taken, but when checking in shown that The Rede has its own private parking space hidden just in front of the hut. Staff were excellent and went out of their way to help. Food also very good (breakfast, evening meal plus some takeaway pizzas). Were seeing friends who lived in the area and they commented on the improvement to The Joiners since they last visited a few decades ago. They were also impressed by the food. Unhurried checkout (11am) was a bonus. Recommend!"

"Truly deserving of its many accolades, The Tempus is a must-stay destination. Everything was a joy, from the setting, accommodation, decor, food and the friendly welcoming staff. If you're looking for a hotel with a difference, pay the Tempus a visit, you won't be disappointed."
