“Not sure why the average rating is so low but this place sure deserves a better overall rating. Anyways, check-in staff were lethargic with zero smiles or welcoming nature (someone needs to remind them that they work in hospitality). This is an old-school type homely resort with so much to offer. Great location. Great activities. Amazing heated pools - especially at this time of year! Excellent for families - would most definitely return. ”

“This was my second stay here and the staff made the stay perfect. They were, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and so accommodating. The room floors could do with a scrub as well as washing and tidying up the curtains. Other than that everything else was perfect. Washroom facilities were spot on but shower floor corners need a clean. What we took away...the beautiful staff. They are your best assets there. Then comes the views. Thank you Emma and Team”

“We had an amazing three night stay at Cathkun Cottage and that was undoubtedly due to Roger’s incredible warmth, hospitality and general helpfulness throughout. The setting is so peaceful, the accommodation clean and comfortable and the breakfast service excellent ! Roger was able to produce some amazing plant based breakfasts when he learnt we were vegan, and there was a wonderful atmosphere getting to know the other guests. You are made to feel so welcome that it is truly a home from home....
