OK apartment, lack of information and poor service

We stayed in April 2015 for 8 nights, visiting Dubai to see relatives who work locally. The apartment was basically OK but not equipped as holiday accommodation having inadequate cleaning and cooking utensils. The apartment faced 6 lanes of highway and the balcony was therefore dirty, noisey and unusable. The sea-facing apartments seemed to have useable balconies. The address given for the apartments on the Expedia website is of an agent several miles away, When we arrived, reception were not expecting us and we had to talk to the agent by phone in order to get the key. The agent said he would see us at 10 the next morning to take payment but arrived well after 11. We had to ask for a pass for the pool and beach area and he delivered this later in the day but it was made out in fictitious names. He said the pool staff would not check on this, and indeed they didn’t, but it seemed seedy and badly organised.

You are on your own, no help.

We had to amend our holiday plans and ended up having to go to this appartment block at short notice.Expedia said we were booked in at North /south appartments but when we got to the appartments there was a big hotel between the appartments and we did not know where to go , it would have been nice to be told specifically if we were in the North or south appartments. There was nothing available when we finally got into our appartments , welcome pack , washing up liquid. We were in our appartment one day and when we came back from the beach there was no power , it seems it had been cut off ! We had to spend time to wait for a representitive to come to the appartments and he told us we has to move to another one ! So another few hours wasted switching rooms . rooms were lovely and big but quite grubby (not deep cleaned), the noise from the road outside was dreadfull, a 3 lane raceway for ferraris . It also didnt help that during the day there was a big building site next door so when on the beach you got a lovely loud banging noise all the time . All in all one of our worst ever experiences and we holiday 3-4 times every year . There was no information in the rooms at all to help you find your way around. Expedia not very helpfull at all .

Nice location but the appartment was terrible

Terrible appartment with very bad furniture . There was bad service , The people in the reception not helping , they have only one word ask your agent . Your apartment not belong to our Hotel it is rented for some agency even i asked to call the agent they said ; sorry we don't have his no. #

Palm Jumeriah Residences

Not a well coordinated plan. Took the address from Expedia website and booking confirmation. Not clear enough. Didn't make it clear whether we were staying in North or South Residences, and there were clearly two separate blocks. Taxi booked via Expedia not ready for our arrival, had trouble contacting them prior to arrival, then the driver did not know where address was from info we had. Arrived middle of night to an empty residence,no water or basic refreshment (tea/coffee) and no information on where we could shop to buy basics. Expensive and very unwelcoming experience. Lot of money paid for a bare apartment and no support from concierge. Never again.

Mauvais sejour

Porte ouverte a 3 reprises, crasse et cafards, frigo avec substances verdratres, nettoyage jamais effectues, pas possible de passer un appel international, sorties dans le desert proposees par la residence nulle, je n'ai jamais vu pareil excursions ,pompe a fric, spectacle indecent avec bruit, faire la queue pour le repas....chambre tres bruyante avec voitures, pas de tv et internet lors du changement de chambre et salete incroyable,impossible de se baigner car meduses dans mer, surveillance fliccage pour les transats de mer car payant,Je ne souhaite plus recevoir de mails de expedia car tres decue et j'irai voir ailleurs, et de plus le transit en egypte fut difficile car j'ai du remplir un papier que normalement je ne devais pas remplir dans la nuit ?

Palm Jumeirah North/South Residence Sejour

We stayed in the residence, which is not a hotel. It is like you are renting a furnished apartment for 2 peoples. You need to bring all you need (shampoo, soap......etc). If you have kids you need to bring extra blanket if not, they will charge you 150 Dirham (45$) per night for 1 extra blanket. The swimming pool is very nice. The area is gorgeous. you can admire the view by walking on the beach (very nice walk). However, sand is not that great (coming from a sandy golden beach, for me the beach was not that great). I think it is worth a detour for 2 or 3 night. We did not have any services. it is very secure. there are security everywhere.

Verschrikkelijk vies

We hebben er een nacht geslapen omdat we midden in de nacht aankwamen. Het bed was vies niet verschoond en het was zeker niet het bed zoals omschreven in de hotelgegevens. We hebben op onze badlakens moeten slapen het was verschrikkelijk. We zijn de dag erna direct weggegaan naar het crowne plaza festival. Zoveel beter.

Very good location

It was never explained to us that the South Residence was attached to' Fairmont Hotel,The Palm' and that payment was to a 3rd party who was an agent representing a number of rentable apartments.This agent also requested payment on day 2 of our stay not on check out! Also your details did not explain clearly about extra Hotel Resort Fees for use of the Beach Loungers/pools and towels etc but apart from the above and lack of kitchen implements and very poor quality hand and bath towels the location was excellent and accommodation very comfortable with great views. Overall we enjoyed our stay but for a fairly expensive apartment there was no service for the room/the room safe itself was not secured, so it was possible to lift the safe and walk away with it/ a lack of kitchen implements/poor quality hand and bath towels/steam iron but no ironing board/ emulsioned walls were in need of attention and it felt as if it needed some general TLC all round. It was obvious that the owners of the apartment had not been around for a while.

La première impression est positive, cela étant, nous découvrons rapidement les inconvénients majeurs de cette location: - vue sur rue ( 2 x 4 voies) donc balcon inaccessible en raison du bruit permanent, literie déplorable (à fuir si vous avez des maux de dos)? matelas HS, sofa-bed cassé, tapis du salon et de salles de bains très sales, rideaux poussiéreux, aspirateur hors service (non remplacé malgré notre demande) aucun changement de linge et draps en 12 nuits et pas de ménage non plus, chaises sur balcon trouées ..... pour le positif hormis le mauvais entretien cuisine et salle de bains correctes. Dubaï reste cependant une destination privilégiée que je conseille tant pour son infrastructure, ses services que pour la gentillesse de ses habitants.

Overtrof al onze verwachtingen!

Dit was meer dan een hotel, eerder een resort met prachtige zwembaden en geweldige restaurants met top gerechten (waar je natuurlijk wel apart voor moet betalen) Ons appartement was groot, ruim en netjes. Alleen jammer van de zogenaamde slaapbank die echter een gewone zitbank was waar onze 3e gast op moest slapen. Een super groot balkon/terras waar we elke avond lekker hebben gezeten, soms wel erg luidruchtig door alle auto's maar uiteindelijk krijg je veel meer terug voor wat je hebt betaald! Meeste voorzieningen doe je met de taxi maar dit is spot goedkoop daar. Dit hotel is een ideale plek om een strandvakantie te combineren met een stedentrip. Zeker een aanrader.

Vi hadde 3 ting vi vektla ved bestillin: trening, strand og wi-fi. Vi hadde gratis wi-fi. Det viste seg imidlertyid at vi ikke hadde leid hotellrom, med en leiligeht som var eid av russere. Dette gav oss ikke adgang til trening eller starnd dvs vi kunne legge oss direkte på stranden ved siden av parasollene. evt betale ca 350 kr pr dag for å bruke strandsoler. Der lå også ett treningsstudio, med dette må vi ha ordnet tilgang til før avreisen. Det skulle være hurtigsjekk.......med vi måtte kontakte en agent for utleier for å komme inn. Og han var ikke lett å få tak i etter at vi hadde betalt. Bildene på nettsiden ved hotells.com var fra ett hotell der vi ikke hadde adgang (bortsett nør vi skulle kjøpe mat evt drikke). Leiligheten var heller ikke klar når vi kom (etter innsjekkingstiden kl 14.00) Som sagt ikke som forventet og vi vil ikke anbefale dette. Vi fikk en del ekstrakostnader da vi valget å dra andre plasser enn å ligge i skyggesiden...

De informatie op de website is onvoldoende. Er was absoluut geen service gedurende ons verblijf in het appartement. Er werden 2 badkamerhanddoeken beschikbaar gesteld voor een verblijf van een week. Voor de rest was er niets, helemaal niets. Niet eens een theedoek om af te drogen. Tijdens ons verblijf is het appartement niet schoongemaakt. Alles bij elkaar gewoon slecht en hadden wij voor die prijs niet verwacht. Wanneer je voor een week huurt kun, je niet aan alle activiteiten deelnemen omdat je geen eigenaar bent en derhalve niet beschikt over het juiste pasje. Dubai heeft gelukkig nog vele andere mogelijkheden om te overnachten en daar zal het altijd beter zijn.

Good location if you have hired a car close by attractions JBR and Marina walk, self serviced apartments so no service as you would get in a hotel but very comfortable, good if you have little children

Bra läge, bra lägenhet

Enda problemet var att ta sig ner till stranden. För korttidsvistelser trasslar det och man får egentligen inte besöka stranden som hör till lägenhetskomplexet.

Disappointing and misleading, NOT recommended

Disappointing and would not stay there again, and will for sure not recommend it to any one. There were no toiletries what so ever, not even a bar of soap (even though they say designer toiletries), no tissue paper, no kitchen towels, the bed linen and toilet towels could not be used, and no one came to clean the flat throughout our entire stay of 5 days.
