Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities

Check this one off my list!

I’ve stayed here before and it was lovely; however this time was very different. There is no one who checks you in or can troubleshoot in case you need anything. You call a number (True North)and the young lady says she will get housekeeping. Really? There is NO one there, not even an office anymore. The place is misnamed. It is an older 60’s motel, not a ‘retreat’. The floors were ‘sandy’ and needed vacuuming. The carpet was damp all over. The tv clicker needed batteries. The bed sheets were ‘sandy’ when we first pulled back the covers BEFORE we even got in!! The corners near there shower were filthy. The bedspreads had stains…. Did this motel change hands in the two years since I last stayed? Sad, I retuned because you could see the pride of the owner. Not anymore. Next time we’ll book in Charlevoix…
