Monteverde Lodge by Böëna

"Our stay at Monteverde Lodge far exceeded expectations! The staff was very communicative in advance of our arrival for check-in timing and assisting with booking activities so that we could maximize our short stay in Monteverde. The property is pristine and rooms are luxurious; we were able to upgrade to an upper level Mountain Gem where the view from our balcony looked atop the cloud forest canopy teeming with wildlife; at one point, a group of koatis and capuchin monkeys were playing together in the trees and jumping on the rooftop of adjacent building right next to our room for a long time. The beds/linens were incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in closet for spreading out and there is excellent soundproofing between the rooms and the balcony doors so that you can rest quietly. The rooms also have very high ceilings for a cozy, cavernous feel. The guest atrium is a very beautifully decorated common space full of well-manicured plants and board games for downtime. The restaurant is very delicious too; the included breakfast was full of amazing choices with possibly the best French toast I have ever had.. and the lunch & dinner menus were amazing for the various diets in our group; truly fine-dining quality of ingredients and service/presentation. The lodge also allowed a late check-out without any issue when we had to rebook an activity that ran over by 1 hour, which was very accommodating. This place is truly excellent all-around."

"The overall set up of the building was very cool. Loved how the rooms were set apart from the main area, in our case, through an outdoor walkway. And what a great common area inside and outside on the deck! The deck overlooked the countryside. The breakfast options provided were wonderful and we felt well taken care of. The decor of the building and rooms was truly unique, loved the white stucco, open beams and coloured glass bead designs! Very comfortable, clean and accommodating stay."

"Beautiful, serene, and peaceful location with clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and responsive staff. Daily breakfast was fantastic! Only downside was a bit of a musty smell in our room but that is to be expected in such humid environment. Overall, magical stay!"

"stayed in the sunrise room: really exceptional. It is a wonderful hotel, but overall, falling too much in love as to how fancy it is. Case in point: the Celajes Restaurant. Gorgeous sunset views. Wonderful starter. Then came the 40$ filet. Worst filet I ever had. It was chewy, rather than melting in your mouth as it should. Told the waiter ( more politely), who brought the chef. Rather than receiving an apology, I got a lecture and was made to pay the entire bill. Perhaps I was too polite? Anyways, can‘t fully recommend it at that price. Get of your horse, Hotel Belmar! It is a shame, because all the employees are trying so hard. Ah, also, the sunrise room is truly fantastic. But it creaks and rumbles when the wind is blowing outside. I didn’t mind, but some may find that disconcerting."

"Nous avons adoré dormir à ce dôme. Le lit, les oreillés, les draps et douillette tout était très confortable. Les draps et douillette était tellement doux. Je crois que s'était en cotton Egyptien. Le déjeuner qui était inclus était vraiment bon et une très grosse portion. Le café cultivé et préparé sur place était délicieux. Un vrai bon café du Costa rica. Nous avions le wifi dans notre dôme qui fonctionnait parfaitement. Nous avons apprécié également la douche chaude. S'était un très bel endroit propre, confortable pour se détendre dans le cloud forest et observer les oiseaux. Seul point à amélioré: il serait apprécié en bas de la côte qu'il y ai une publicité pour les dômes. Je ne trouvais pas le chemin car s'est seulement rendu dans le haut de la côte qu'on voit qu'on doit tourner à gauche. Rendu à gauche on peut appercevoir la publicité pour les dôme. Mon gps perdait le signal. J'ai eu la chance que quelqu'un passe en 4 roues et qui connaissait la région mais s'est le seul point négatif. Je garde de très bon souvenirs de Monteverde et son magnifique dôme. Le personnel était très aimable et chaleureux. Pura vida."
