Simple stay in a good location. If you don't mind staying in dorm rooms, military barracks, with crowds/parties till 1am, you won't mind this place.
Very busy place, friendly staff, good restaurant, breackfast is not includet, but good, what you can chose, too many selfish and chaotic people there. Sanitary facilities very poor.
The hostel was very chill, which was nice, but it would have been good to have more social things. Staff always cleaning. 24hr restaurant was helpful. Kitchen did not have any bowls, so we ate cereal from saucepans everyday haha.
We stayed for 2 nights in an ensuite double. The bed was very comfortable but we had no hot water for 2 days and no one would come and check it. We had to shower in the communal showers and the floor mat in there was so mouldy and it stank. The wifi wouldn’t work in our room so we’d have to go and sit on the stairs in the hall to use it. The restaurant is fine and always busy. Food and service were average. The location to the start of the walks is excellent though and an easy walk along the Main Street to other restaurants and bars. The bar attached is excellent though and their happy hour prices were super cheap.
Shared room should not be mixed. When I came into my shared 4 bed room, I saw one couple (male and female) was in a bed with caressing each other and talking. It was continued even while I were there. I was not very comfortable during the stay.
The hotel foyer looks a little rough on first contact but it all improves once inside.
The biggest issues we had was with noise which easily carries in this big concrete box.
Cleaning staff were active at 5am outside the room and we could not sleep
The property is conveniently located to the great hikes in the area. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for renting gear. And the restaurant had so many good options with super availability.
On the negative side, the room window covers were not very dark (there was a bright light outside my window) and the door did little to quiet those walking noisily by in the hallway. Positives outweighed the negatives, though.
