"My stay at Holiday Inn Express in Alpine, TX was one of the worst stays in my 30+ years of traveling! I arrived at the hotel and realized that the hotel is going through a major construction/ renovation. I was assigned to a room on second floor. There were constructions going on the entire floor except a few rooms so the hallway was full of construction equipment and debris and it was loud from construction equipment. I booked the hotel back in October of 2025. If I had known that the hotel would be doing a major construction, I would have chosen a different hotel in Alpine. I feel that the hotel should have notified me well in advance so I have a choice of keeping the reservation or booking another hotel in the area."

"Our stay at the Drugstore Hotel was truly unique—an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything we saw in the photos came to life, and honestly, it was even better than we expected. My son absolutely loved it—he said he would happily live there forever, playing games and enjoying every moment. That alone says so much about how special this place is. We felt incredibly welcome throughout our stay, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and fully enjoy our time as a family. Highly, highly recommended! We will definitely be back and will book this place again on our next trip. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!"

"An absolute unique setting surrounded by the Fort Davis Mountains. It is directly across from the Chihuanhuan Desert Nature Center. We stayed in Bunkhouse 1 that worked well for 2 adults and our 11 year old grandson. The first night there we enjoyed sitting by the pool and the hot tub. We chose this location aa our home base to spend time both in the Fort Davis area and the Big Bend area. Bunkhouse accommodations are similar to a hotel setting. No kitchen but small frig, microwave, espresso machine. It also has a fireplace. It is a very peaceful setting that is still being developed. We enjoyed a short hike on the property but according to site info they plan to develop more trails. There are also trails at the Chihuanhuan Natural Center and at the Fort Davis State Park. The accommodations were very comfortable and provided everything we needed for our 5 nights. We bought snacks and lite breakfast food in town. The line of toiletries is top of the line. I wish I could have purchased it. "
