Lovely facility, centrally located. Their covid restrictions are clearly displayed and the staff are more than aware of their requirements in implementing them. Dining room service, dinner and breakfast, very efficient. Staff very attentive.

Would stay here again
The hotel was very clean. It was an older style hotel.. Our room was out the back which meant we had no view. Staff were lovely and friendly. We didn't eat there but the menu seem to have a great variety.

A group of old schoolmates meeting up for a weekend so the hotel was perfect for that. Located right in the town with clean, comfortable rooms, a good breakfast and reasonably priced. Friendly staff.

Art and Aviation
The Alcock and Brown hotel is right bang in the heart of Clifden. It scores well above average for the art on the walls, and for the bar décor: pictures and the very readable story of the aviation feat of Alcock and Brown one hundred years ago, a fantastic story - so go read it and be amazed. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Everything is impeccably clean and painted and carpeted so more than full marks for a 3star hotel. It does not have a lift. The cooked breakfast is high quality, the brown bread and croissants are very good but there aren't any fruit salads, just some apples and oranges. There is a nice exterior terrace on the street so a good place in fine weather.

Perfect location, great price. Its a bit dated, but oh well. Great staff, good room, walking distance to great pubs. Highly recommend.

Centre of town
Duty manager very nice, room very basic nothing exciting. Breakfast not the best, lady serving us not helpful in the slightest, wanted to have scrambled instead of poached eggs, didn’t give us the choice despite 3 other guests arriving and was happy to offer them a choice, I asked if we could have them scrambled and she said no because the chef is already making it?

warm and welcoming
Lovely place to stay. Nice people and good food. We had a little problem with the stairs since there was no lift and one person had difficulty. We were early and they accommodated us.

A Good Option in Clifden
We've stayed here before and would stay here again. It has a very good location which is right in the town centre.

Be aware of extra charges at the hotel when you arrive. We booked the hotel through a price comparison website. We had to pay an extra 40 euro on top of the price quoted. I had booked a room only deal that consisted of a double and single bed for two people. As we had a spare bed, we thought it would be a good idea to bring our child. But the hotel insisted on the extra charge for the child even though there was plenty of space for all of us in the room! Could not understand their logic for this?

Dear Ms Kinsella, Thank you for your review. I can clarify the position on the extra charge. You reserved a 'Double' room for 2 persons and were given a price for 2 persons. You had the choice to reserve a room for 3 persons, but did not take this option. A Triple Room (3 persons) is a different price to a Double Room (2 persons). Hence the extra charge. I hope this clarifies the matter.

Nice location, in city center.
-No parking, you have to find a spot on the street and pay per hour. - room extremely not, no a.c. - not allowed to sit in lobby or on premises with any drink or food not bought at hotel. We were told to sit in our room & eat. - No elevator, had to carry heavy luggage up too many flights of steps!

Directly downtown Clifden
Booked this hotel specifically because of the king bed, but it was really only a double like every other bed we had during our vacation. The hotel does not have an elevator or air conditioning. Had to pay for parking on the street and then drag our bags up two flights of stairs to a hot room. Really surprised the next morning when we were told we could not enjoy our coffee and croissant on the outside patio or in the lobby. The front desk attendant suggested we take it to our room. Beautiful town to visit, recommend selecting a more welcoming hotel.

Very friendly staff
Staff were incredibly friendly. Charming place but charm could still be maintained after a bit of renovating, particularly since price is closer to 4 star. All in, a nice place to stay.

Really bad customer experience
We had the worst experience ever with this hotel. We booked it through hotels.com. First, the road to get to the hotel was closed, about 30 min before arriving. We took the deviation road but ended to the same point after 20min. We tried to look on our GPS but we didn't have a good 3G. So then I called the hotel but the line wasn't working. Tried to find another number on their website. Nothing.So then I sent an email and we waited a little bit to get a reply. Never arrived. Then we started to drive through another way, without knowing whether the hotel was open, or existente. In the meantime, I called hotels.com to get further information. They tried to call the hotel, didn't work either. They tried on another line, didn't work. I then asked hotels.com what would happen with my 85eur and was pretty surprised to heard back that "hotels.com is just an agent, we don't deal with that" Wooow, really? We eventually arrived at the hotel after 2h struggling with Google Maps. We explained our situation and told the receptionist that we called and sent an email and her reply was simply : 'what is wrong you are here now, right?' She just said the phone wasn't working and she never received my email..... I checked and it went through even though we had a bad connection. She didn't even offer a discount or free breakfast, which would have helped us having a better experience. Well, we will never go back again in this hotel and I definitely don't recommend it.

Clifden is a lovely town and Alcock and Brown is in a great location. We could walk to restaurants, pubs and stores. The staff at Alcock and Brown was helpful and friendly.

Nice hotel
A nice little hotel with very friendly staff and a nice breakfast. The rooms are a little dated and the showers could be upgraded and shower curtains replaced for doors but other than that happy with my stay and will prob stay here again due to it being good value. It's located right in the middle of the town making it great for restaurants and pubs.

Ok til prisen.
Hotellet ligger godt placeret i Clifden. Værelserne er ok, men basale. Wifi i værelserne havde flere afbrydelser i længere tid. Morgenmad var god og frisk lavet. Vil bo på hotellet igen hvis vi atter kommer til Clifden.

Un peu cher pour ce que c'est. Accueil aimable, cheminée agréable mais pas de chauffage la nuit dans la chambre. Dosettes café absentes. Après réclamation dosettes périmées et toutes séchées. Petit déjeuner à la hauteur et très copieux.

You have to heat your rooms!
It was very cold on the day we stayed, and the heat would not come on in the room. We called reception and were told the heat is on a timer and, basically, to suffer through it. My wife was sick and it was distressing to see her put on multiple layers and still shiver under the blankets. Obvious hairs in bath and around commode
