The owners were fantastic, friendly and very helpful with suggestions of things to do. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. I would highly recommend this property when visiting Gansbaai and surrounding area.

Amazing stay! Hope to return one day!

The hosts/owners are super sweet and welcoming. Agnes cooked the best breakfast I’ve had yet in my two weeks in South Africa. Right near the ocean — loved this aspect. The building is well kept and stylish. They had an electric blanket to keep we warm if I needed 🙌

The place is nice … The shower is a nightmare… u literally have to open shower & wait for it to get hot … the mixer for water doesn’t work … & there is not pressure little bit more attention needs to pay cleanliness.. the white cupboard are dirty… The hosts are very nice

We only stayed for one night but we received a lovely welcome and the owners were really helpful, giving us advice on where to eat in town and how best to get to our next stop on the garden route. Breakfast was lovely too!

Nice lodge with extremely nice owners

Nice lodge and extremely nice owners. They were so helpful and gave us a lot of information and even booked dinner at a restaurant and a whale safari. Highly recommendable lodge. Breakfast was nice too.

Excellent !

Excellent emplacement (central), propriétaires absolument charmants. La demeure est magnifique et décorée avec soin. Petite piscine, salle de petit déjeuner, qualités des chambres avec terrasses. Nous avons même été surclassé.

Sweet spot in Gansbaai

A wonderful place in central Gansbaai, great location for taking the shark trips which starts just a few minutes away. Caron and Dave took very good care of us and really showed they care about their guests. Room was perfect for a family (2+2), the children had their own room and beds. Very good breakfast with a great selection. Gansbaai seem to be a windy place but the pool and terrace at this place was covered well from the wind, at least from the wind during our stay. The bar at this place is impressive with a great selection.

Wir waren im Nebenhaus , Eingang durch Hinterhof ,untergebracht. Sehr dunkle Zimmer, mit einem winzigen Fenster in der Tür..Altes Mobiliar, alles roch muffig und schimmelig . Die Toilette befand sich unmittelbar am Bett, es gab noch nicht einmal eine Tür. Die schlechteste Unterkunft auf unserer Reise, entspricht eher Back Packer Nieveau. Wir haben die 2. gebuchte Nacht verfallen lassen und sind eher abgereist . Der Empfang war allerdings sehr freundlich, das Frühstück war ok. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt vor einer Fischfabrik .

Die Saxon Lodge wird von einem fabelhaften Team betrieben, das einem mit allem weiterhilft: Restauranttipps, Ausflugsziele, etc. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich. Wir würden dort wieder unterkommen wollen.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional hosts

Nicest stay ever! David & Caron are exceptional hosts (along with teddy the dog) Beautifully styled room, very clean with a dreamy bed. Perfect location to do many of the activities avaliable in Gannsbai. Highly recommend!
