"DO NOT JUDGE THIS HOTEL FROM THE STREET OR EVEN WHEN YOU ENTER THE MAIN DOOR! It looks so rundown and dingy but when you get to the first floor and enter the hotel doors, it’s a completely new story. Sama Hotel was squeaky clean with amazing staff who were always ready to help. The rooms were spacious and the bed was so comfy. Certain rooms even have washing machines which came in great for washing our clothes after a trip to the pyramids. The breakfast is prepared fresh via an online order app and delivered to your room each day at the time you request. The elevator is small (and again, looks questionable) but is helpful for bringing up luggage. The area CAN be overwhelming for novice travelers as it’s in the middle of downtown Cairo, meaning there’s tons of stores, droves of people, and relentless traffic, but also meant there were loads of shops and food options around. We had no problem having tour pickups come to the hotel (they meet you at McDonalds which is right across the way). I will note that the windows are not soundproof so if you prefer a noise free environment, I would suggest booking elsewhere.
Overall this hotel is a STEAL for the cost. I highly recommend it if you don’t mind a little chaos (outside)."
