We can’t sleep in the room when everyone walking on the floor inside and it’s disturbing us to wake up and sleep again and wake up again that we was drowsy!

The breakfasts were fabulous, varied each morning from sausages to beans to eggs with toast. The hostel had a hotel vibe to it especially on the landing upstairs. The showers are great. The beds ok but very hard and the pillows were extremely hard I honestly don’t know how people use them, I had to buy my own softer one.

趣はないが観光には便利

ジョージタウンの古い建物に泊まりたかったので選んだが、 ドミトリーで１泊３０リンギは高い。 若い西洋人が多かった。 内部は「うなぎの寝床」のように奥に長く、 改装してあるので水回りなどはきれいだった。 女性用４ベッドの部屋は個別のライトがない。 とにかく狭い。４人だときつい。 窓なし、エアコンあり。 ロッカーはあるが鍵は自分で用意すること。 廊下がカーペット敷きなのでスリッパ・ゴム草履が禁止。 西洋人にはルールを守れない人もそこそこいた。 一番の問題点は廊下の軋み。 信じられないくらい部屋の中が揺れる。 廊下をどすどす歩く人が憎かった。 屋台のある通りにも、レッドガーデンにも、バス停にも、 イースタン＆オリエンタルホテルにも歩いて数分。 寝るだけと割り切って、ほとんど部屋にいない人におすすめ。 朝食はホットミールがあるので、そこはうれしい点だった。 ロティーと春雨の日替わりは珍しい。ゆで卵とウインナーは毎日ある。 スタッフは人によってフレンドリーさが違うものの、 質問にはなんでも答えてくれたので、積極的に話しかける必要がある。 次回はここの近くの、もっと安いドミトリーで、 もう少し雰囲気の良い宿を選びます。

Terrible wifi the dorms are cramped

Absolutely terrible WiFi. The dorms are very cramped. The WiFi in the lounge is very slow. Between 0.5 Mbps to 2 Mbps. The bathrooms are clean and the breakfast is good.

フロントの方の対応が親切で、質問への回答やタクシーの手配を快く行ってくれました。ドミトリー内は広く、荷物を入れるロッカーもあり快適でした。バスタオルの貸し出しは大変嬉しかったです。通路やシャワールームには冷房がないので少し暑かったですが、仕方ないですね。近所にはコンビニや飲食店が多数あり、旅行中の飲食には全く困りませんでした。全体的には非常に満足です。

Value for money

A clean and safe city center hostel with reasonable price. Would like to mentioned about the breakfast that, by backpackers standard the owner is very generous by offering a good buffet style breakfast for the guest. The menu include rice, noodle, sausage, eggs, Indian roti, bread and butter which enough to cater for everyone taste.

Excellent location at a reasonable price

2 nights solo traveller staying in a private room. Basic but the bed was really comfortable, great aircon and powerful shower. Breakfast could be better. Really tasty sauce but the vegetable curry lacked a lot of vegetables - maybe I arrived too late and missed out.

Still ok but soundproofing is not

This is my second time to stay this hostel overnight and seems everything are still good as usual. Despite being in a more quiet room on the ground floor the only problem I face is the sound proofing; by the time I am about to rest I can hear a very loud laughing and conversation outside, maybe on the bar area. Also, can hear those walking on upstairs which may disturb light sleepers. But the rest, facilities and free breakfast (though got limited choices) are still ok.

Good location to a lot of the historical places. Toilet okay but lack of soap. Top floor is a bit noisy when people walk hard. Other than that, it is okay.

Clean hostel in the colonial area

This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The bed was comfy, the showers were warm and with good pressure, the bathrooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent for a hostel. We were actually served warm breakfast for free every day, and we didn't have to do the dishes. The staff were always helpful (except one) and friendly with lots of knowledge about the area. The room was clean and every bed had a poweroutlet with usb-charging and different charging-types. I will stay here again next time I come to town.

위치 좋고 깨끗하고 조용합니다.

아침 7 시 부터 저녁 11시 까지 문이 열려 있기 때문에, 저녁 11시에 밖에서 밥 먹다가 들어와야 한다는 것이 약간 단점 이라면 단점 이었습니다. 아침식사는 빵/계란/커피 정도만 제공 됩니다. 타올/얇은 면 이불 주고, 키 디파짓으로 20 링깃 보증금 있고, 체크아웃시 다시 돌려 받습니다~ 위치는 좋구요, 도보로 이동 가능하고, 시설도 깨끗하고 좋구요, 샤워실 화장실 불편없이 사용했습니다. ( 아침 일찍이면 좀 기다려야 할 수도 있어요) 1층 카페 테리아도 조용하고 좋고, 캔맥 8 링깃에 먹을 수 있어요. 다만 이층이 나무 바닥(복도에는 카펫이 깔려있음) 으로 되어있는데, 복도에 사람들 지나 다닐때,, 전체적으로 울립니다. 저렴한 가격에 위치 좋고, 다음번에도 또 이용할것 같아요~

A fantastic hostel in great location.

I booked to stay at Ryokan Muntri Boutique Hostel based on the positive reviews I had read online. There were a number of mentions about Mac, one of the staff who works on reception, and how welcoming and informative he is. These were so true as on my welcome to the hostel, around 10.30pm, Mac gave an extremely warm welcome after I'd endured a long trip to George Town. The hostel itself is very clean, comfortable and the design and decor is very cool. The breakfast far beat expectations with a buffet every morning including toast, eggs, sausages, beans, noodles, curry, a great way to start off your day. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the air con is good. The shared bathrooms are also very good with powerful hot showers. Location could not be better as you are right in the heart of the old heritage city of George Town, and the famous Love Lane (full of cafes, bars and restaurants) is only a 2 minute walk from the hostel door. I cannot recommend this hostel enough and will certainly be staying here again on my return to George Town.

Clean hostel, Powerful showers

My room was located next to the toilets & showers so sometimes there was a bad smell in the room. Also, the air con was a bit hit & miss, either too hot or too cold - no happy medium. But the hostel was kept very clean & only a 10 min walk to the nearest 7/11. Not much of a social scene while I was there.
