"My biggest complaints were how worn everything in my room was. The edge of the bed frame was dirty and worn, the wallpaper was peeling in places, the bathroom corners looked like they had years of dirt in them. My other complaint is that I hurt my leg at the airport and wanted to ice it. I called the front desk in the morning and was told they would send ice right up. 40 minutes later, there still was no ice and I needed to shower and get dressed for the day, so I cancelled the request. Later I went to the front desk on my way in and asked to pick up some ice. They wouldn't give me any ice, they said it had to be delivered to my room. I wanted to go to my room and freshen up, take off my clothes and relax, not be worried about when someone would show up at my door (if they ever showed up). I don't understand why they couldn't just give me some ice. I WAS IN PAIN.
I don't want to complain too much because I had a good time despite the issues I encountered. I location is great! 5 minutes from Central Park, across from Lincoln Center and close to bus and subway stops. The staff was great with directions and help locating transportation. They are a nice bunch of people. But I really wanted that ice!"
"I was quite surprised because the room looked very different from the photos. When I checked in, some towels had visible stains, and I found about five different types of hair on the bedsheets, which was very upsetting.
Also, I understand it was a Friday night, but the soundproofing was non-existent. I had to deal with loud music from downstairs until past 2 AM. While the location is great, I’d recommend spending a bit more to stay at a well-known hotel chain instead. Definitely not worth the price.""
"The hotel's location was excellent. However, after housekeeping serviced the room on the 2nd day, the bathroom developed a strong odor reminiscent of a dirty cleaning rag, making it unpleasant to use."
"Reception was excellent. I had a corner room which was large and clean, comfortable bed, however there was only 1 towel, dingy and bare and 1 washcloth. There is no dresser, only a closet with a safe and hangers. The closet light does not have a switch to turn it off, so I had to close the door at night. Also, the coffee maker was sitting on an old cooler that was not cold and the light flickered. Doors slamming all night, but it’s a hotel, so expected."
