Decent stay for a night or two in Panjim
After a small delay at check in (the hotel was unable to find my booking at first) I was soon taken to my room. All the staff were very friendly and helped me when I needed it. The breakfast staff were especially friendly. The room was ok - it was pretty much i what I expected for an oldish hotel in India. The location is very close to the river and the centre is all within walking distances.

Good, could have been better!
So the hotel is definitely living off its past glory and location. But on the flip side, being next to the coast means there is a chance constant drone of the noise made by the casino ships at the harbor. It has the decor reminiscent of an old era but unfortunately it hasn’t been maintained so the rooms are average with gaudy interiors and some plumbing issues. They make up for this by providing good staff however. The staff is cordial and cooperative!

Had booked this stay for a friend. When he reached the hotel and showed the confirmation from hotels.com the guy at the front desk said that there was no booking received, this is absolutely ridiculous. he made them make a fresh booking with the hotel directly.

The Rooms were a bit old and hate a lot of mould. The beds could change a bit. The service and breakfast was great. Will definitely visit again if I get a similar deal.

Historic hotel on the river and close to down town
Great decor and architecture. Right across the road from river with restaurant on the river. Staff very helpful and good breakfast. Easy walk to Panjim sights, restaurants and shops.

Nice comfortable hotel with its old charm.
The front desk staff should be a little more professional up to the international standards. Rest all other aspects were good. The restaurant staff was great and took good care . Keep it up Mandovi !!!

Great location, walking distance to everything of relevance in town. Way better hotel than one expects when viewing the facade.

It was good and enjoyable. I think hotel location is the best if you are interested to visit Casinos, you only need to cross the road to enter to Casinos. receptionists are so friendly and kind. Overall it was a good experience staying with Mandovi hotel.

No airport pick up available at time of arrival. Early arrival request ignored. No refreshments available at time of arrival, sent to anther hotel. Staff friendly. Told there was no booking for my friend but he was there.

The hotel quality has deteriorated over the last few years. Definitely over priced. Poor infrastructure. The staff wasn't too friendly ( as you would expect from a hotel of this standard). Hotel Location is excellent though!

Water leakage in rooms
Rooms were much smaller than expected. there was water leakage from the roof. You can get much better rooms at this price.

I had a good experience at the Mandovi. This is the second time in a row I have stayed there. I do business in Goa and it is conveniently located in Panjim. The staff is friendly, there is 24 hour free Wi-Fi and it is close to downtown

Good location for Gambling
Hotel was Ok to stay. Big room and super location at heart of panjim. cost is little bit expensive. Food is not good but there are plenty of good restaurants near by. There is no proper window, so you might not have fresh air. Air con is ok. Good thing is it is very close by all the major casino in Goa. If you are traveling to Goa for gambling its probably the best hotel.

Fantastic Location
The Hotel is old, but the location is fantastic.No view rooms are not recommended, river view rooms are good.Service is average and the complimentary breakfast is not good.overall the rooms doesn't match the cost they charge

We paid for the premium executive suite which by definition we thought would be the best available,surprised to be shown a pretty tired room overlooking a wall. When we asked for a river view we were told they were the deluxe rooms and we would have to pay more. I argued and got a very nice river view for no extra. This Hotel plays with words to confuse you. Security safe did not work after calling a technician who said we were not using it correctly he eventually agreed it simply did not work. Breakfast was mediocre. the location is great for city.

excellent in every way, Definately value for money and the breakfast is very good.No need to you can get a room with view as most rooms do have a view (so don't pay extra).Hotel does not say complimentary pick up/drop off to trainor airport, but this is complimentary when booking room for 3days and plus.

Excellent Stay - Mandovi - 5 nights - March 2013.
I had booked a standard room for my parents for a short 5 day stay. The staff was very helpful in getting them in the hotel coach, as well as with other things of interest. The hotel is extremely convenient for city stay and also to navigate in the North of Goa. Though traditional, Mandovi still has that old Goa charm and keeps up with service requirements of today's age.

Good budget hotel
Stayed there for 2 nights. Centrally located, which was the best part. Rooms were reasonably clean, but no amenities like electric kettle in the basic ones. Would recommend the river-facing rooms if you plan to spend a lot of time indoors.

I had come to this hotel about 45 years ago. It was a beautiful place then so I remembered it fondly and booked my stay for a week there in December of 2012. But I will never consider it again..EVER. The staff at the restaurant was very nice and the buffet was okay. But, in a week, I changed the room thrice. The first room was nice, but some rowdy neighbors screamed all night long and the hotel clerk was not able to stop them, so I lost my sleep two nights. Then we changed the room only to know that it was full of mold and we couldn't breathe. The cleaning staff agreed that there was mold. The owner doesn't care, it appears. Even a doctor patron had the same problem. We then shifted to Crown Hotel for a little more and were pleasantly surprised to see so much hospitality and cleanliness just about one kilometer from Hotel Mandovi. However, the staff at Mandovi was really nice, but I don't blame them. They were only employees and had to do the best in the circumstances. Majority of the guests come for the boat casinos and cannot contain themselves. They lack social etiquette and courtesy. I guess the hotel is very convenient and located on the waterfront, so they come in crowds. The guests also fall over the buffet as if the food was going to leave the planet. A realtor in Panjim told me that the stay and the food had gone down in quality and the hotel was not considered prestigious.

Good stay, no problem
Nice, alert and helpful staff. Avoided the standard room and got a good quiet and spacious room in the premium executive option. Very effective central AC that can be turned down or off - and the room still remains cool next day. We were 4 people there and payed just like Rs 700 for the extra persons breakfast and bedding. Breakfast is a buffet, eat as much as you like, we got fresh watermelon and papaya and fried eggs anyway you like and cornflakes and milk and more. Would stay again.

A worthy Hotel for both family and business people
the biggest deal for me, being there on business, was that the Wi-Fi was free. they have several Wi-Fi antenna on each floor and the speed was plenty fast. I stayed at another hotel in Goa the 2 previous times and even though it is bigger, fancier, has more amenities, and of course is more expensive, is that there you have to get little pay stubs for your internet use....irritating if it expires and you have to go back down stairs to get more minutes. The Mandovi, I was told, is the oldest hotel in Panjim. It has nice old handles.fixtures and was comfortable and within walking distance of basically everything in Panjim.

Hotel Mandovi in Panaji - location isn't everythin
Good position by the river in the centre of town, but the hotel is showing serious signs of age. Claimed to be the pioneer of quality hotels in Goa, it has the run-down feeling of a seaside hotel out of season. Check-in took an age, despite prior booking and reception staff let down thee friendly and helpful attention of other staff in the hotel. Room facilities are okay but basic. Renowned in-house restaurant is resting on its laurels - there is better Goan food in town. Altogether, it's cheap and cheerful but be wary of the claims that it's a top quality hotel - next time I'll go back to very superior Marriott...
