Everything was wonderful. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff was great. Extremely attentive and friendly. It was our 56th wedding anniversary and they sent a nice chachuterie board to our room. Every evening the maid came by with a sweet treat for each room. The property is very nice and right on the bay. Very relaxing atmosphere . I would definitely consider returning to the Amaka Lodge

We had to pick up some equipment at the Marina in Golfito so we decided to try Amaka. We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations..with the highlight being the spectacular view of the marina surrounded be emerald green rainforest covered mountains. We come to Golfito often but don’t normally spend the night..but we’re really happy we gave Amaka a try. THE STAFF is excellent, they upgraded our room to get us checked in earlier..clean, spacious, and very cool “marine life” large canvas artwork..strong AC (important in Golfito) and just a really cool overall island vibe decor. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you to Uriel for going out of his way to check on us occasionally to make sure we have everything we need! The young lady who checked us in was great and made some last minute room maneuvers to get us checked in early! Travel Tips: Get one of the two rooms with full Marina/ocean view if possible although all are nice. Opt for the included breakfast..you can pick from any main course on the menu - highly recommend the croissant/ egg/ mushroom/cheese/spinach option- so good! Enjoy! Hasta pronto!

Quiet, Lovely spot.

Everything was fine except the elevator was out of service and there were 23 stairs, hard for someone like me with mobility issues. Also, the photos make it seem as though the rooms have private balconies, but they do not. A common walkway connects the rooms and there are chairs for sitting on that walkway. Rooms 211 &212 would be best to avoid foot traffic in front of your room and also have the best views. Food in restaurant was good and included breakfast quite substantial. The area is quiet but beautiful. And, boy, can it rain!!!

The air in the room was stuffy and sickening, there was no window, only artificial light. The only ‘window’ was a wall of glass, next to the door, what had to be closed with shutters in order to have some privacy. It was like sleeping in a closet.

Great for short stay!

The hotel & restaurant are very nice and the bar/wait staff are super friendly and all spoke English pretty well so that was a plus for us. It's a small hotel so not very crowded at all. The rooms were modern and clean. The bed was comfy & housekeeping service was provided. The open-air restaurant had a nice breeze and fabulous view from every seat. The hotel had no pool which I totally overlooked when booking. The bartender told us about the spa pool on the roof, so we did enjoy a dip after dinner our first night before the rain came in. The bar was our only hang out in the evening & luckily it's covered which was awesome when the showers rolled in. There is one other little bar at the end of the property by the marina that has chairs in the sand and great views during the day. Since there is no real beach for swimming/laying out we drove our car around to the other side of the bay and found a rocky beach/swim area that had a cool vibe and even a little cafe/bar on the water that had the best ceviche of our trip! Not much to do right around the property so know that and plan ahead. We were interested in fishing or other tours but the tour desk was closed the entire time we were there. We did get someone to help us with info re fishing but when that didn't pan out we didn't want to bother them asking about other things to do so it's best to have an idea of what you want to do before you go so you don't miss out.

Las habitaciones son muy lindas, y se mantienen con buena limpieza. De todo, lo que más nos gustó fue la comodidad de la cama, la ropa de cama y las almohadas. Hubo un leve malentendido sobre el pago de la estancia durante el check-in pero fue resuelto de inmediato! Como bienvenida nos dieron unas bebidas refrescantes, y luego unas galletas muy buenas.

El hotel es el Mejor de la zona, las habitaciones son impecables en limpieza y tienen muy buen tamaño. El personal súper amable y el restaurante es Delicioso, muy bonito el ambiente en general.
