"We recently stayed here for a wedding in Zoagli. Overall, the place served its purpose — it was clean, quiet, and in a good location about a 15-minute walk down to the oceanfront restaurants, shops, and beach. "We were a bit confused by this hotel. This is a luxury boutique hotel that didn’t really feel like a luxury hotel. The staff were nice which is expected but didn’t go out of their way for us. The location is excellent and our room had a beautiful view of the Portofino piazza but the windows all had signs saying “please keep windows closed”. Our room furnishings were standard. The hotel is very loud. We were above the restaurant and could hear the music all day and we could hear people in the hallway and the very loud guests in the room above us most of the night. Despite this hotel’s social media, website, Expedia saying the amenities included a free shuttle to the beach, there was no free shuttle. When we asked about it we were told by staff we had to walk 30 min to the beach on the dangerous, hilly, winding one lane road(our taxi driver coming to Portifino specifically told us tourists are hit every day when they mistakenly walk on the road). We paid for a taxi to take us to the beach. No pool. The only other amenities were the one hour gozzo boat ride which was nice and the breakfast at the restaurant Dav Mare which was the best part of staying at this hotel. The restaurant staff are exemplary and the food is delicious (and plentiful). Also be advised that this hotel has a very specific check in. You can only check in between 3-6pm because the hotel is in the pedestrian zone. A bellhop meets you at the taxi drop off and walks you and your bags two blocks to the hotel."

"The location to the beach was perfect, literally metres away with a full service bar and loungers and umbrellas that were stupendous. The room itself was super clean. Staff were so helpful and they’ll let you use the facilities even if you check out at noon for the rest of the day. The rooftop pool and lounge area with Jacuzzi have stunning views of the harbour and all of the massive yachts. Don’t go anywhere else. Just go here and be happy."

"Nice place, very convenient. A five minute walk to the train station and a nearby convenience store. In front of the sea. Overall would definitely stay again if I visit Rapallo again. Only downside, if you have problems walking, elevator is really small. It really only fits one person at the time with their luggage. I don’t mind using the stairs, actually prefer it, so it didn’t affect me at all. Also, for my fellow Americans who are always banging on about the air conditioning abroad the one in this hotel works really well."

"Good hotel in a great location with a private beach club that overlooks the public beach in Portofino. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The building and facilities were older, but that seems to come with Portofino. There was an issue with the room safe that the staff fixed, although the television in the room continued to freeze and did not appear to be fixable. Overall we had a good experience and would recommend the hotel on the understanding that the price reflects that fact that everything is more expensive than normal in Portofino."
