Grassano B&B

Convenient location for visiting Grassano and area including Matera and nearby hill towns Free street parking available outside the accommodation. This B&B meets basic needs. Several matters of concern were discussed with Gino and we hope that they will be addressed for future guests: poor lighting inadequate for reading; no comfortable chairs; very basic pre-packaged breakfast products: toilet paper and breakfast items not replaced until specifically requested. We appreciated Gino's recommendation of the nearby excellent restaurant 3 Colli.

I booked this late due to a problem with my itinerary. I arrived at 8:30pm having only booked an hour earlier. Though there was no-one based at the property, when I called the proprietor, he was extremely friendly and was with me within 10 minutes. At this point he showed me into the accommodation which was beautifully converted from an old building as the domed ceiling demonstrated. Everything I needed was there (including wifi) with water in the fridge, plenty of breakfast selection and a great coffee making machine. Short walk from the main centre of this small town where everyone (just as everywhere else I visited in the south of Italy) was welcoming and friendly. Excellent property in an out of the way town that I'm pleased to have stumbled upon.
