We have stayed at Las Penas several times as it's our home whenever we pass through Guayaquil. It's walking distance to the Malecón and Aero Via and has several restaurants nearby.

Las Penas is our go to place whenever we are in Guayaquil, which is several times each year. It's a welcoming property with friendly, helpful staff. It is centrally located in downtown Guayaquil in easy walk to the Malecon, restaurants and other attractions.

This hotel is in downtown Guayaquil. We stay here whenever we are in Guayaquil and are happy with the hotel. It's clean, adequate to our needs and unpretentious. We have tried other hotels in Guayaquil but Las Penas is our favorite.

We are repeat guests as we stay here on our way to and from the airport for a pre and post flight break. Property is in downtown Guayaquil in "the heart of the city" as they so proudly state. It is convenient to the airport, the Malecon and the Air Tran. We find the hotel convenient and feel safe walking around the city. The staff are always courteous and helpful.

First, I must commend the location. It is fantastic, offering easy access to many attractions in the center of the city. Being so close to 9 de Octubre, Malecón 2000, and Parque de las Iguanas made my visit very enjoyable. I particularly appreciated my room, which had huge windows that let in a lot of natural light. Additionally, the air conditioning worked well, providing a comfortable environment for my stay. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff also made a positive impact on my experience. However, I noticed that the hotel appears a bit rundown in certain areas. I believe that a revamp could greatly enhance the overall experience and make it an even more wonderful place to stay.

Its a very nice but older hotel. The staff was very nice and had pretty good english. I think it would have been nice to have complementary water in the room and maybe some instructions about thevtv streaming and the AC. I think the price was great, the breakfast included quite basic and maybe they could negotiate a bit of fruit into it but it was served fast and coffee was good. I liked the area close to many restaurant options but maybe someone would think it too far from the malecon. Id stay again for any airport trip, its quite close to the salinas guayaquil van shuttle tho not as vlose as the ramada.

Clean and safe, centrally located. Good value compared to adjacent options. Staff is professional and eager to accommodate. My request to change rooms due to noise was quickly honored. The front desk was also happy to provide extra blankets. A/C works well as does the hot water. Special thanks to Jackeline. She was always quick to greet with a smile and made herself available to patiently answer questions. She was friendly and efficient and takes her job seriously. She went out of her way to arrange cheap transport to Cuenca. She is knowledgeable and helpful. This hotel is my first choice when staying in central Guayaquil for logistics and overall value.

Owner should put some more Investment

Rooms are spacious, Wi-Fi is Good, breakfast is continental, staff at the reception is helpful and attentive especially Genelia. Room is not sound proof and having some traffic noise during sleep. It is in Centro and everything is nearby including Supermarket, Claro and many eating options. Flip side of the hotel is they do not have electricity backup. Guayaquil is having a lot of electricity cuts. so if the electricity goes off then nothing is working in the hotel. you cannot have a Wi-Fi, cannot recharge your mobile and it's complete dark. Owner should look after electricity backup and put some investment in this hotel.

This hotel was fine for a two night stay between the Galapagos and mainland portions of our trip. The area is fine but, like most of Guayaquil, I wouldn’t recommend wandering at night.

Overall , It is a great place to stay for holidays. However, I think it’s not convenient for business trips . 1. No ironing-board. 2. No a restaurant to have dinner or a drink 3. Breakfast is served at 7.30 ( too late) and no many options. 4. Poor internet signal.
