The Castle of Guimarães began with a monastery built by Mumadona Dias in the 10th century, before, therefore, the formation of Portugal. As the attacks of the Moors were frequent they decided to build a wall to protect the community and the monks that lived inside. It was this fort that gave origin to the Castle of Guimarães. Later, in the twelfth century, it was in this castle that Dom Afonso Henriques was born. Some years after he would become the first king of Portugal. With the lack of use the castle was degrading. Recently it was recovered and classified as National Monument. It is also considered World Heritage by UNESCO. A place full of history and that was cradle of Portugal. It is no wonder that in a piece of the original wall has the words "Here was born Portugal".

I liked being in an old building that was renovated with very modern bathrooms, for example. Breakfast was good, as well. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. For the price, it was a very good deal. Quiet, co.fortable, safe, convenient.

Horrible !!

Absolument pas digne d’un 4 étoiles, mais 3 étoiles. Petit déjeuner sans saveurs, mention au jus d’orange coupée à l’eau, ascenseur sans lumière ! Mais surtout, nous avons eu une coupure de climatisation, impossible de changer de chambre car c’était complet, ok ça arrive, mais ne PAS avoir de VENTILATEUR ??? Il faisait littéralement 30,6 degrés dans la chambre (vu sur leur tablette qui contrôlait toutes les climatisations avec températures de chaque chambre, et surtout AUCUNE EXCUSE du responsable ?! On a demandé plusieurs fois à le voir, on s’est dits qu’il ou elle sera là au check-out, pour s’excuser lui même. Car les excuses des employés comptent mais je voulais m’entretenir directement avec lui, en lui expliquant qu’il faudrait avoir des ventilateurs portables au cas où, car avoir 30,6 degrés dans les chambres et sans aucun vent pour rafraîchir c’est impossible. Nous n’avons pas dormi de la nuit, mais vraiment n’avoir aucun mot du responsable c’est honteux. Quel manque de respect !! Et par ailleurs aucun geste commercial. Nous avons payé pour 2 nuits dont 1 qui ne nous a servi à rien, et qui a même suivi à des tensions car aucun de nous deux avions dormis Vraiment aucun respect pour le client, et même sans cette histoire, je vous laisse juger les photos ! Point positif unique, l’emplacement ! Par contre, dire aussi qu’il y a parking inclus, alors qu’il n’y a QU’UNE place ? Ils se sont crus dans Fortnite, faut faire top1 pour avoir sa place Je deconseille fortement

Quarto confortável porém tomadas mal distribuídas ou em locais de difícil acesso. Chuveiro bom porém tinha mosquitos que caiam parecidos com cupim toda hora. Café da manhã bem básico parecendo de hotel 3 estrelas. Atendimento na recepção excelente. Algumas escadas dificultando para pessoas com dificuldade pelo hotel.

Bom hotel mas sem estacionamento

O hotel é muito bom, super bem localizado, uma equipe atenciosa.. café da manhã super completo. Minha única observação é sobre estacionamento. Como estava de carro, procurei um hotel com estacionamento disponivel, que foi informado no momento da reserva. Mas nao é o que acontece. O hotel tem 1 unica vaga para atender todos os hóspedes. Infelizmente tomei uma notificação que me saiu cara!
